Kenan Rubenstein

Kenan’s first failure in his lifelong ambition of political apathy occurred in the fall of 2004, when he became entangled with America Coming Together in Pennsylvania. This slippery slope led to the Hell’s Kitchen / Hudson Yards Alliance, a coalition of New York’s tenant’s rights and housing advocacy groups for which Kenan helped organize and stage a number of media-seducing rallies and protests, which, when successful, found their way onto the front pages of the New York Times and Metro New York, into The Village Voice and The New York Daily News, and onto many local broadcast news programs.

Subsequent attempts at inaction were foiled by his association with (and domestic proximity to) Board Member Chris Asta, who dragged him to Colorado to volunteer for Obama, and then back to New York to join the estimable ranks of ACT NOW. An emeritus of ACT NOW’s board, he now keeps this website, which he designed and built, running well and looking good. He hopes it will help the group to change the political landscape into one his conscience can abide, so that he may regress to a quiet life drawing comics in peace.
