Chris Asta got into politics by becoming an obsessive political blog-reader. Like many fellow “bloggers”, this led him to Ned Lamont’s senate campaign, on which he worked as a volunteer coordinator during both the insurgent primary and subsequent general election efforts in 2006. It was during this time that he joined up with ACT NOW to work on various Congressional canvasses and phone banks. He currently brings his love of politics, and meetings, to Act Now’s Board of Directors.
When he manages to peel himself away from the internet, he occasionally plays in his band, Butchers and Bakers. Unless he wins a grammy between now and then (or someone convinces him otherwise–always a possibility), Chris will begin studying at NYU Law in the fall of 2011.
