Allison Tupper’s political activism began with running a recycling center in the West Village, registering voters for McGovern, and fighting Westway. Who remembers neighborhood recycling or McGovern or Westway? She couldn’t have been more than 10.
Environmental and political activism continued at a slower pace during a career in education, and has picked up now that she has retired. Let’s hear it for protecting the Hudson River, green buildings, full voluntary public financing of election campaigns, and ACT NOW!
