Our Mission
ACT NOW brings New Yorkers together to reach beyond our borders
and win elections for progressive candidates across our state and
country. We reach out voter-to-voter to support competitive candidates
in the country's most critical races, and ensure that constituents
hold their elected officials accountable to a progressive agenda.
Our Track Record
ACT NOW began when New Yorkers organized to help America Coming Together (ACT) mobilize
Democrats in the 2004 presidential election. Since its inception, ACT NOW volunteers have made
more than a million phone calls and knocked on tens of thousands of doors to help Democrats win
targeted elections in vital districts around the country.

In the most recent federal elections, ACT NOW took on critical, razor-thin Congressional races,
making more than 47,000 phone calls and knocking on 11,000 doors. In the same cycle, we also
made more than 28,000 phone calls and knocked on more than 9,000 doors to help elect State
Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins in another hotly contested race.

Just this year, in a special election, hundreds of our volunteers worked phones and went
door-to-door to successfully elect Craig Johnson, whose victory put Democrats within two seats
of a majority in the New York State Senate.
Our Challenge
Thousands of New Yorkers have worked with ACT NOW to elect progressive Democrats in recent
years, and the upcoming elections will test our capability to grow in new and exciting ways. With your
help, we'll sweep the 2008 elections from the statehouse to the White House, ushering in
responsible, progressive solutions to our country's most pressing problems.
