Thank you, Lenny! And Rich, I hope the article you cite is correct that a deal hasn't been cut. Let's keep up the pressure on Cuomo to veto!

Thank you Alan. I was going to say don't worry about progressives as we are well-read, but then I thought that, perhaps, we too, read only the material that supports our theories. Perhaps you have a point.

Thank you Carolyn for expanding my knowledge beyond the fragments I've picked up thus far. So, will Apple forgo 5% of its cash accumulation? A 60% profit margin is really excessive!

I will follow-up on the petition.

Thanks for a wide ranging, insightful, and funny piece of writing. Given today's atmosphere in our political world it the chances of a neo-con or a Republican by any other stripe endorsing Obama are somewhere 'between slim and none. And slim left town,' as the old saying goes!

Not only provocative, but evocative and fascinating! Would that your vision and analysis of Republicans and conservatives are true, but then we'll have to await the election results in November, seems to me. Living in the bubble that I do, I admit that I have no idea what conservatives are reading these days, and the media coverage really reveals very little other than the usual sound bites. It's even more about polls and "horse races" than in the past. What are progressives reading? Anything nearly as stimulating and mind-expanding?

Again, Katya, and ACT editors, this piece really deserves a wider audience.

I know. I was a little behind the curve here, happy to say. I saw the guy who put together the change.org petition on tv last night. He's persuasive.
