Not all states are created equal. Well, at least not in the Electoral College sense. There are those solidly blue, and there are those solidly red. Finally, there are those states that determine elections. Virginia is one of those states.
The importance of Virginia in the upcoming Presidential election can’t be underestimated.
This coming Sunday, July 1st, ACT NOW is organizing a Cell Phone Bank in the Park to reach swing voters in the state of Virginia. We’re working directly with the Obama for America office in Virginia, where some of our volunteers joined efforts earlier this month to do voter registration. Calling voters directly is a highly effective tool to keeping Virginia blue. We can reach hundreds and perhaps thousands of voters just in a matter of hours, all the while sitting on the lawn and basking in the sun. Plus, we will be doing “voter ID” calls, which means it’ll be relatively straightforward: trust us!
