ACTivists, 2010 promises to be a big year, full of opportunities to make our voices heard on the progressive issues that are most important to us. To that end, we are planning a Strategy Session, like the ones you’ve attended in the past, but reflective of the new questions and challenges we face. Namely, we’ve got our Democratic State Senate, Congress, and President — now what are we going to do with them?

We know that this year has had its disappointments, particularly on the marriage equality and health care fronts, but we urge you to keep your chins up, ACTivists. If you’re tempted to quit, just sit back and remember how far we’ve come in a short time together. Remember that, just a few years ago, the national agenda included a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, privatize social security, and deny the scientific reality of climate change. It’s due to all your hard work that the world’s a little brighter, even if it’s not quite perfect. Yet.
