Heather Roberson came to ACT NOW by way of the 2004 election, during which she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to work as a volunteer for America Coming Together (ACT). She connected with ACT NOW before the 2006 mid-term elections with the aim to, once again, experience the gratification (both instant and long-term, as it turned out) of a good old-fashioned, on-the-ground voter contact campaign. When she’s not meddling in American politics, she likes to meddle in the politics of small Balkan counties. To that end, she is the co-author and protagonist of a forthcoming graphic novel about war prevention in the Republic of Macedonia, formerly part of Yugoslavia. (She can’t take credit for preventing war in Macedonia, but she likes to draw attention to those who can.) Heather cut her activisting teeth in the great battleground state of Missouri where she was born and raised, but is quite content organizing New Yorkers, because they are generally as impatient as she is to get things done.
