Gene Hill |
Gene Hill’s roots in politics go back many generations. A descendant of New Mexico’s early governors (when Spain and Mexico ruled) and grandson of that state’s Democratic Party chairman from the FDR era, Gene acquired his earliest political experience serving on the student senate (and then as entertainment chairman) of the University of New Mexico. Since then he has worked with the Southwest Voter Registration Education Project, the congressional campaigns of Tom Udall and Patricia Madrid, and most recently Obama’s Street Team in Santa Fe. Gene served in ACT NOW from 2005 to 2008 during which he was primarily focused on the recruitment and activation of volunteers. Having relocated back to New Mexico after 13-plus years in New York City, Gene looks forward to taking advantage of his ACT NOW experience to help organize progressives in the Southwest. |
